 WALLACE, NANCY

WALLACE, NANCY

Nancy Wallace moved to Virginia in 1996 and embraced the state’s beautiful landscape as her primary subject. Among her favorite places to paint are Sky Meadows State Park (near Middleburg), Albemarle County and Bath County. Weather permitting, she paints on site (“plein air”), seeking to capture not just the visual elements in a scene – the trees, the mountains, the roads, the rivers – but also the light and even the sounds and smells. Her subject matter also includes still life compositions and figures.

Nancy’s paintings are exhibited at galleries in Virginia and the Washington metropolitan area, and can be found in business and private collections all over the United States.

She received her B.S. degree in Art Education from Case Western Reserve University and a Master's in Art Education from the University of Illinois.  She has participated in workshops led by master painters including Morgan Samuel Price, Kevin Macpherson and Ken Auster. In June, 2006 Nancy completed a three-week figure/portrait painting workshop at Willow Wisp Farm Studios in Asheville, North Carolina.
